Have You Registered to Vote?
Don’t worry, this isn’t going to be anything political (although the deadline is the 22nd May to register for this election), but if you’re going to make a finance application, it’s important you’re on the electoral roll.
4 Things to Know About Registering to Vote
Registering to vote can improve your credit score. Our funders use this information to help confirm your name and address history. This also helps to combat credit fraud.
Not being registered can negatively affect you. It can be as small as causing a delay while funders confirm your address by other means, or as large as an automatic decline. Different funders have different criteria.
Once you’re registered, the information might not appear straight away. Councils normally update their electoral roll once a month. There may be further delays if the council are performing audits etc. It’s always worth checking with your local council to make sure.
