This figure is just 4mpg behind the overall winner and exceeds the official statistics from the manufacturer by just over eight per cent.<\/p>\n<p>It also recorded the third lowest CO2 emissions of the models on test, with just 94g\/km.<\/p>\n<p>Lee Wheeler, manager-corporate operations at Honda (UK), said: &#8220;The fact that our small diesel 1.6 i-DTEC powered Civic five-door finished a very respectable third in the MPG Marathon illustrates the key benefit our new Earth Dreams Technology to fleet users &#8211; far less trips to the filling station than many similar sized competitor models.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Honda&#8217;s Earth Dreams Technology is now available in the Civic five-door hatchback and CR-V, with the manufacturer set to bring it to the Civic Tourer in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which is organised by the Fleet World Group, is designed to be a true real world test that demonstrates the benefits to the environment and the wallets and purses of drivers by employing simple, smart driving techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Ross Durkin, managing editor of Fleet World Group, said that the aim of the event is to make it as representative of everyday driving as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The new format meant that hardly any drivers took the same route and it was absolutely fascinating to follow their progress via the TRACKER website.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Honda has been making strides in efficiency within its vehicles and we offer a range of car leasing contracts that provide impressive fuel-efficiency, reducing the costs associated with driving.
