The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has once again paired up with Britain's top advanced driver Peter Rodger to give motorists advice about parking. Their first, and simplest, piece of advice is to always park on the left-side of the road if you can. This makes it easier for you to navigate your car into a space.<\/p>\n
It's also best, according to the expert, to try to reverse into parking spaces when in a supermarket or other types of car park. This will make it safer when you are leaving as you can fully see where you are going and what's around you. It is also is more fuel efficient as you'll be manoeuvring with a warm engine.<\/p>\n
IAM chief examiner Peter Rodger said: "Parking is an essential part of driving which many people find stressful. Don't feel pressurised by other drivers waiting for you to park – it's important to do it at a sensible pace."<\/p>\n
