The car market is preparing itself for a busy few weeks as car leasers and dealers prepare for the introduction of the 63 number plate at the start of September.<\/p>\n

David Bruce, director of AA Cars, says that over the next couple of months people in the industry will be busier than ever.<\/p>\n

He said: “Between September and November we\u2019re expecting dealers to be busier than they have been for some years.”<\/p>\n

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), new car sales are expected to exceed 2.2 million by the end of the year which is the highest number since 2008 and an 8.4 per cent increase from last year. This commonly has an effect on the number of people wanting to lease cars, as consumers want to change their model more frequently to keep up with the trend, and car leasing<\/a> is an affordable option for both companies and individuals.<\/p>\n

Mr Bruce highlights the fact that over the next three months millions of people will be trading in their own models to consider getting behind the wheel of a model with the latest number plates.<\/p>\n

He also suggested that drivers are feeling more confident now that the UK is slowly emerging from the recession. This means they are more willing to consider luxury items like a brand new car, as during the credit crunch the number of people wanting to change their car within two years fell to a “record low”. According to the director, dealers are more optimistic than they have been for a long time.<\/p>\n
