German sports vehicle giant Porsche has revealed that it will be entering two GT race cars into two of next year’s most eagerly anticipated motorsport events.
\nThe manufacturer confirmed that the vehicles, which are being designed with plenty of hints towards the new ‘Type 991’ generation of the Porsche 911, will feature in the 2013 edition of the Le Mans 24 hours race.
\nPorsche has not entered one of the world’s most famous endurance races since it claimed overall victory way back in 1998.
\nFurthermore, Porsche will be looking for even more success and glory when they enter the cars into the 2013 World Endurance Championship (WEC).
\nEach vehicle is set to compete in the GTE category, with Porsche AG Team Manthey overseeing the proceedings.
\nAnother encouraging note for Porsche is that Olaf Manthey is being made the team manager, bringing with him plenty of knowledge about how to excel in endurance motorsport.
\nMr Manthey has previously celebrated five overall victories with Porsche at the Nurburgring 24 hours race, while also recently getting behind the wheel of a 911 GT3 RSR in the International GT Open.
\nCommenting on the year ahead for the German manufacturer, Porsche Motorsport’s head, Hartmut Kristen, said: “The new 911 RSR is currently being developed by our engineers and tested by our works drivers.
\n“What better time could there be to introduce the new car than in the 50th anniversary year of the Porsche 911.”
\nDrivers can sample the raw power of a Porsche vehicle by taking advantage of a great car leasing<\/a> offer currently being presented on the Boxster 3.4 S two-door Roadster<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The vehicle can hit 62mph from a standstill in just 5.4 seconds and deliver 26.6mpg on a combined cycle, with motorists only needing to pay \u00a3602.15 per month to have the privilege of driving such a fine set of wheels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
