The Vauxhall Frontera is another nameplate that has made a comeback recently.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After being absent from the Vauxhall range for more than two decades, it\u2019s back in full swing and will be competing in the compact SUV class. It\u2019s also a car that we\u2019re pleased to offer here at UK CarLine<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what are the key things that you need to know about this new car? We\u2019ve compiled a list of everything that stands out for the Vauxhall Frontera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s available with hybrid or electric power and both models are on price parity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Frontera is one of the few cars in the segment available with seven seats <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There is a choice of two powertrains for the Frontera with hybrid and electric power both on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hybrid setup is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a small 48-volt battery and there is the option of two power outputs. The Former is a 98bhp unit with 204Nm of torque, while the latter is a more powerful 134bhp model with 230Nm of torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to go electric, Vauxhall has you covered with the Frontera Electric<\/a> and boasts a 44kWh battery pack with a single electric motor which produces a total of 111bhp and 125Nm of torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manufacturer claims that the car can travel up to 186 miles on a single charge and that 100kW DC rapid charging is compatible, taking the car from a 20 to 80 per cent top up in 26 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s more, there is no price difference between the hybrid and electric model with the range starting at \u00a323,995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It sits on the same platform as many of its rivals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Frontera returns as a compact family-focused SUV<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Underneath the skin, the Frontera sits on Stellantis\u2019 \u2018Smart Car Platform\u2019 which is shared with many of its key rivals such as the new Citroen C3 Aircross and even smaller cars like the Fiat Grande Panda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advantage to this is that the car can be used for multiple different powertrains which is why you can get the car with a hybrid or electric powertrain. But, it also helps keep production costs down as it allows other car makers owned by the Stellantis Group to use the same underpinnings for its models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s one of the cheapest family SUVs on the market<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned before, both hybrid and electric models are on price parity, which is an industry first and with that low starting price of \u00a323,995, means it\u2019s one of the most affordable SUVs on the market today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison, cars such as the smaller Ford Puma<\/a> start at just over \u00a326,000 and even the Dacia Duster <\/a>in hybrid guise is priced at \u00a324,245, making this Vauxhall represent excellent value for money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can get it with seven seats<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you go for the hybrid model, for an additional \u00a3550 you can have the added benefit of two extra seats, taking the car from a practical five-seater SUV into a seven-seater. And, for the money, that makes it one of the cheapest seven-seaters on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of space, the third row will be best suited for children as the seats are located low to the ground and there is limited knee and headroom, so they will be preferred by smaller passengers. However, that shouldn\u2019t put you off, as you still have the option of seven seats to make this affordable SUV one of the most practical on the market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It rivals the Hyundai Kona and MG ZS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Frontera is competing in one of the most competitive segments in the new car market and there is plenty of choice available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only are there the likes of the Citroen C3 and e-C3 Aircross, which share their underpinnings with, but the competition extends to the likes of the Hyundai Kona<\/a>, MG ZS<\/a> and Ford Puma<\/a>, all of which are standard five-seaters only with no option of an additional third row of chairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
