Jaecoo is a new Chinese brand that started selling cars in the UK in 2024.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Its first offering was the 7 SUV<\/a>, built to rival cars like the Nissan Qashqai<\/a> and Hyundai Tucson<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now, the firm is expanding its model line-up further with the launch of the 5 SUV, which will sit below the 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if you\u2019re thinking of buying one of these budget-friendly SUVs, what are the key features that you need to know about it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve compiled a list of the most important things you need to know about the new Jaecoo 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will rival the Ford Puma and Jeep Avenger<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Both petrol and electric versions will be available <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Unlike its larger sibling, the 5 will compete in the B-segment SUV class, taking on the likes of one of Britain\u2019s best-sellers, the Ford Puma<\/a>, and Jeep Avenger<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5 has big boots to fill in this fiercely competitive sector of the market when it arrives on our shores later this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a choice of petrol and electric powertrains<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jaecoo promises plenty of space in the 5<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Jaecoo<\/a> is offering a choice of different powertrains with the 5. The first will be a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to an automatic transmission that produces a total of 145bhp and 275Nm of torque. However, the manufacturer has not revealed performance figures at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, there will be an electric version of the car too, but further details on this model, regarding its battery size, performance and range will be revealed within the next few weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electric 5 will also be directly competing with EV models such as the Ford Puma Gen-E<\/a> and Jeep Avenger<\/a> Electric.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It promises to be very practical<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Jaecoo 5 promises to be a very capacious car, despite its smaller exterior proportions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chinese firm claims that the car features more than 35 different storage spaces inside the cabin and that the rear seats can fold down, to create a boot space size of up to 1,180 litres. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the boot capacity with the rear seats upright has not been revealed at this stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two trim levels<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The interior brings lots of standard equipment <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Jaecoo is keeping things simple with the 5, and doing so offers the car in just two trim levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entry-level Pure comes with all the equipment you could ever need, including a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, a six-speaker premium Sony audio system, automatic headlights and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flagship Luxury boasts even more equipment such as a tilt and slide glass sunroof, a cooled wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker premium Sony audio system, and six-way electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s competitively priced<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Jaecoo 5 follows a similar design theme to the 7<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Chinese cars tend to undercut their competition when it comes to price and the Jaecoo<\/a> 5 is no exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices start at \u00a324,505 for entry-level Pure, which is more than \u00a32,000 less than the cheapest Ford Puma at \u00a326,580 and more than \u00a31,500 cheaper than the most humble Jeep Avenger at \u00a326,050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want the top-of-the-line model, then the Luxury comes in at \u00a328,000, but that still represents excellent value for money next to the competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes with a long warranty<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For added peace of mind, all Jaecoo 5s will come with a seven-year or 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to the competition \u2013 with the exception of Toyota<\/a> and Kia<\/a> \u2013 that makes it one of the longest warranty periods from any car maker, showing confidence that the Chinese firm has in its products. Plus, for the first three years of the car\u2019s life, there is no mileage limit on the warranty either, making it even more of a tempting proposition for those who may have never owned a Jaecoo before.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
