There are two trim levels too, with the flagship \u2018Excellence\u2019 model offering all the equipment you could ever possibly need, and for a tempting price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seal is going up against the likes of the Polestar 2 and BMW i4, all of which cost more than the Seal, with even their entry-level models costing more than the Seal Excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just because it\u2019s cheaper than its rivals doesn\u2019t mean standard equipment has been forgotten about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you go for the Excellence<\/a> trim, it features everything you could ever need, including a head-up display, a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, which allows electrical appliances such as a microwave to be plugged in using the car\u2019s battery, all-wheel drive, a glass panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, keyless entry and an energy-saving heat pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underneath, the Excellence model comes with the added benefit of a dual-motor setup, which means it features all-wheel drive, giving better traction in wetter conditions. Power has increased too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to numbers, the AWD Excellence<\/a> model produces 522bhp and 670Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.6 seconds and will go on to a top speed of 112mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of charging, BYD claims this model can travel up to 323 miles on a single charge and that 150kW DC rapid-charging is compatible, allowing for a 30 to 80 per cent top-up to take just 26 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison, the standard rear-wheel drive car produces 308bhp and 359Nm of torque, while 60mph is dispatched in 5.7 seconds and the top speed remains the same at 112mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BYD claims the standard car can travel up to 354 miles between trips to the plug and it\u2019s also compatible with 150kW DC rapid-charging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior is focused around the large central screen <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Seal offers plenty of interior space for occupants and there is a large, practical boot too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BYD Seal Excellence<\/a> provides decent levels of interior storage with a glovebox, a cut-out under the floating centre console, two cupholders and some storage under the centre armrest.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the back, there is a completely flat floor, making it more comfortable for three people to sit side-by-side, and despite the sloping roofline, there is sufficient head and legroom for over average-sized adults. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the boot and there is a total of 402 litres, along with a low and wide loading aperture. Meanwhile, under the bonnet, there is an additional 35-litre \u2018frunk\u2019, which is perfect for stowing the car\u2019s charging cables away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All Seal models, including the Excellence trim, come with BYD\u2019s cutting-edge \u2018Blade Battery\u2019 technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blade Battery technology means that the battery pack is more compact, safer, stronger and doesn\u2019t use any precious metals, such as cobalt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, with its stronger structure, BYD claims that a vehicle fitted with Blade Battery technology has a life of more than 5,000 charge and discharge cycles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
