While the pick-up Poer300 may have a slightly off-the-wall name, it\u2019s got some really cool features and here at UK Carline, we\u2019ve been able to get up close and personal with it. Here\u2019s everything you need to know.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s competitively priced<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GWM is well-known for its value-focused pricing and it looks as if the Poer300 will be no different. Prices start from \u00a331,495, making it one of the cheapest pick-ups of its type available in the UK. It\u2019ll go up against rivals like the Volkswagen Amarok<\/a>, Ford Ranger<\/a> and Isuzu D-Max<\/a> when it hits the road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s pronounced \u2018power\u2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That Poer300 badge might look a little strange, but it\u2019s actually quite simple. You pronounce it just like \u2018power\u2019, while the 300 part is very straightforward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere in GWM\u2019s range you\u2019ve got cars like the Haval Jolion Pro<\/a> and the cutesy Ora 03<\/a> which, rather famously, started life as the interestingly named \u2018Funky Cat\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s got a rugged diesel engine <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While GWM may have used electric and hybrid technology across the rest of the range, for the Poer300 it hasn\u2019t strayed too far from the more traditional end of things. The Poer300 uses a rugged 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine with around 180bhp and 480Nm of torque. GWM says that you could get up to 32.7mph combined, too, and all versions get a nine-speed automatic gearbox and full-time four-wheel-drive for the best-possible traction in all conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GMW has included a variety of driver modes to help tailor the truck towards whatever driving situation you\u2019re in, too. Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud and Sand all change the setup of the Poer300 and ensures that it keeps going no matter the conditions. Coupled with 230mm of ground clearance and you\u2019ve got a pick-up truck that\u2019ll go wherever you need it to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truck is accompanied by a 3,500kg towing capacity and a maximum payload of 1,000kg, which means it\u2019ll slot easily into a variety of roles. As the photos show, the loadbed of the Poer300 is also easy to access, with fold-out steps available to make this process as simple as can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s plenty of technology on board <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just because the Poer300 has been designed to offer rugged dependability doesn\u2019t mean that it misses out on key luxuries. In fact, you\u2019ll find plenty of high-end technologies fitted across the board. There\u2019s a 12.3-inch infotainment system running Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, for instance, as well as a seven-inch digital driver\u2019s display. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve also got a wireless smartphone charging pad and a variety of soft-touch materials used throughout the cabin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are three trim levels to choose from <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Poer300 arrives with a choice of three trim levels. Entry-level Lux brings 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, rear parking sensors and leatherette seats, while middle-rung Ultra adds in heated and ventilated seats, a sunroof and the aforementioned tailgate step for easier access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, you\u2019ve got Vanta, which brings a stealthy blacked-out trim design, including elements such as the wheel arches and alloy wheels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news is that whichever version you opt for, you\u2019re getting a five-year or 125,000-mile warranty as standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
