Chery is a Chinese car manufacturer that has recently started selling cars here in the UK.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The firm is one of China\u2019s largest automobile makers and owns other thriving Chinese car brands such as Omoda and Jaecoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chery has just launched the Tiggo 8<\/a> SUV, which is going up against cars like the Kia Sorento<\/a> and Skoda Kodiaq<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if you\u2019re in the market for a large family SUV, what does the Tiggo 8 have to offer?

We\u2019ve compiled the top five features that make the Tiggo 8 stand out and why you should consider one for your next car. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes with seven seats as standard<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have an expanding family, you\u2019ll be pleased to know that the Tiggo 8<\/a> comes as standard with seven seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With all the seats in place, the car still offers plenty of space for everyone’s bits and bobs with a 117-litre boot capacity and 494 litres with the third row folded down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the cabin, there is even more space, as up in the front, there is a massive under-centre console storage cut-out, a centre armrest that hides a deep central bin, two cupholders and large door bins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a choice of powertrains<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Under the bonnet, the Tiggo 8 can be specified with a choice of two powertrains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first is a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. This setup produces a total of 145bhp and 275Nm of torque, while it can hit 60mph in 9.6 seconds and will go on to a top speed of 118mph. Furthermore, Chery claims that the Tiggo 8 with this engine can achieve up to 36mpg on the combined cycle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second option is a plug-in hybrid with what Chery calls its \u2018Super Hybrid\u2019 powertrain. It features a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor and an 18.4kWh battery pack which produces 201bhp and 365Nm of torque. Chery claims that the car can travel up to 56 miles on electric power and can manage 745 miles on one tank of fuel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to choosing which Tiggo 8<\/a> is right for you, Chery keeps things simple by offering just two trim levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both models come packed full of standard equipment with the entry-level Aspire coming with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a six-way electrically adjustable driver\u2019s seat, a 540-degree surround view camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 50-watt wireless mobile phone charger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top-of-the-line Summit comes with even more toys such as a four-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, a 12-speaker Sony premium audio system and heated and ventilated front and rear seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It undercuts all of the competition on price<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to prices, the Aspire car comes in at \u00a328,545 and rises to \u00a331,545, while the plug-in hybrid models start at \u00a333,545 and rise to \u00a336,545 – making the Tiggo 8<\/a> cheaper than a Skoda Kodiaq<\/a> and Kia Sorento<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, if you take into account how much space and standard equipment you get for your money, the Tiggo 8 is also cheaper than the smaller five-seat Jaecoo 7, making this Chery represent exceptional value. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a long warranty\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All Tiggo 8s come with a long warranty too, which is seven years or 100,000 miles; however, if you buy one of the Super Hybrid PHEV variants, the battery is also covered up to eight years or 100,000 miles, to give customers full reassurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This puts it on par with cars such as the Kia Sorento, which also offer a seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty, whereas cars like the Skoda Kodiaq are only covered up to three years or 60,000 miles.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
