Mercedes-Benz believes its latest release is continuing its tradition of creative and effective design.<\/p>\n

The CLS Shooting Brake defies existing stereotypes and combines the looks and desirability of a coupe with the practicality of five doors and a longer roof.<\/p>\n

According to the German company, it opens up lots of new possibilities in the area of car design and builds on the idea of a five-door coupe first seen in the CLS range in 2004.<\/p>\n

“It stands for the enhanced design idiom of Mercedes-Benz which is oriented towards aesthetic, avant-garde principles,” said Gorden Wagener, head of design at Mercedes-Benz.<\/p>\n

While chief executive officer Dr Dieter Zetsche stated: “Any memorable machine is equal parts art and science. A car has to first deliver in function – the ticket of entry – and then in fascination: the ticket to real excitement. The CLS Shooting Brake excels on both accounts – unlike any other car on the market”.<\/p>\n

This design ethos has been apparent in Mercedes cars for years, with the brand becoming a byword for quality and performance.<\/p>\n

One of the most striking models to come from Stuttgart in recent years has been the SLK Roadster.<\/p>\n

Like the Brake, every effort has been made to ensure the car looks as good on the road as possible and these aesthetically-pleasing modifications have not hampered the car’s performance in anyway.<\/p>\n

The 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY two-door Tip Auto version is capable of accelerating from zero to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds, while delivering an impressive fuel economy of 56.5 mpg on a combined cycle.<\/p>\n

Of course, such engineering excellence comes at a cost, with the car having a list price of \u00a331,490.<\/p>\n

However, much of this can be limited by opting for the model as part of a Mercedes car leasing<\/a> scheme, which reduces expenses to monthly payments of just \u00a3205.87.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
