Jaecoo<\/a> has just launched its new range-topping 8 here in the UK. Here at UK Carline<\/a>, we\u2019re already big fans of cars like the Jaecoo 5<\/a> and 7<\/a>, and the new 8 looks to introduce even more high-end features and an executive experience to all of those on board.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new car is absolutely packed with features, but what do you need to know about it, and how could it fit your needs? Let\u2019s take a look. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new plug-in hybrid setup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There’s plenty of space inside the Jaecoo 8<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Jaecoo range already has plenty of electrified options, but the new 8 takes things one step further. It gets the brand\u2019s SHS-P system, which uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor and battery for a combined 422bhp and 580Nm of torque, bringing 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds. You also get all-wheel-drive as standard for improved traction, lockable differentials and even an adaptive all-terrain system to help tackle difficult terrain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the big push here is towards efficiency, which is why this setup helps the Jaecoo 8 to travel for up to 83 miles on electric-only power. It also brings low CO2 emissions of 14g\/km, making this a cost-effective choice for business users<\/a> too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two seating configurations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Jaecoo<\/a> 8 launches with two seating configurations so that there\u2019s a version for all types of drivers. Firstly, there\u2019s your standard seven-seater layout which provides ample seating space for larger families or bigger groups. The seats offer flexible options, too, and can be raised or lowered depending on your need for more seat space or improved boot room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, there\u2019s the six-seater version. Available in Executive-grade cars, this option brings – you guessed it – an executive-style seating configuration with dedicated captain\u2019s chairs that provide a first-class experience. All four of the rear seats get heating, ventilation and massaging functions to make them as comfortable as possible when you\u2019re on the move. At the very back, two additional fold-out chairs are included in the boot area to help increase practicality when you need it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lots of standard equipment\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As we\u2019ve come to expect from other Jaecoo<\/a> models, the 8 has got loads of standard equipment. All cars get a dual 12.3-inch screen setup, running both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so it\u2019s easy to mirror your smartphone\u2019s apps on the main display. Plus, all models include a high-end 14-speaker Sony sound system to make the most of your music.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jaecoo 8 also gets a handy vehicle-to-load system – or V2L – which allows you to use the car\u2019s on-board power to power external devices, such as an air pump for camping use or even a large speaker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fittingly for a flagship model, the Jaecoo 8 offers lots of space, both in terms of seating room and overall practicality. A panoramic sunroof brings extra light to the cabin, within which you\u2019ll find plenty of storage options. Fold down all of the rear seats and Jaecoo<\/a> says that you\u2019ll get up to 2,021 litres of boot space in the 8, providing more than enough room for all of those larger adventures. That’s only slightly less than you’ll get from the very large Skoda Kodiaq<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive models also get a special \u2018zero gravity\u2019 passenger seat which aims to offer the best possible comfort, with a 123-degree adjustable angle, extra legroom and a dedicated \u2018boss button\u2019 which brings extra adjustability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
