Chery is one of the hottest car brands in the UK right now and here at UK Carline<\/a>, we\u2019ve been getting excited about each new model that passes through our doors. The Chery<\/a> experience looks set to get even better with the introduction of the new Tiggo 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tiggo 4 arrives as a compact crossover designed to rival the likes of the Volkswagen T-Roc<\/a> and even the electric Kia EV3<\/a>. We\u2019ve got all of the details you need to know about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the Chery Tiggo 4?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Chery Tiggo 4 arrives as the brand\u2019s most compact model and one which sits underneath the larger 7, 8 and 9 cars. It means that now, if you\u2019re after a slice of the Chery<\/a> experience but don\u2019t want to drive a large car, you\u2019ve got an option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news is that the Tiggo 4 comes with all the same great features as the larger models, including a broad range of safety assistance systems such as blind spot detection and rear collision warning. It\u2019s covered by a standard seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is it powered by?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As with many other Chery<\/a> models, you\u2019ll find hybrid power at work in the Tiggo 4. It\u2019s a regular hybrid<\/a>, too, with no plans for a plug-in hybrid version to be introduced just yet. There\u2019s a 1.5-litre petrol engine at its heart, linked to a small electric<\/a> motor and a compact 1.83kWh battery. All versions get an automatic gearbox, too, and can travel on battery power for very short periods or at slow speeds, such as when you\u2019re parking.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should be able to manage around 50mpg, though this will be achieved if you\u2019re mainly doing around-town driving, where that small electric motor can be used more often. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are there many trim levels to choose from?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In what is a common theme with Chery<\/a> cars, the list of available trim levels for the Tiggo 4 is kept nice and simple. In fact, there are just two – Aspire and Summit. With Aspire, you\u2019re getting heated wing mirrors, electric windows and a rear-view parking camera, alongside dual 12.3-inch screens which get both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to make pairing your phone easy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step up to Summit and you\u2019ll get a cooled wireless charging function, a 360-degree parking camera and an electrically adjustable driver\u2019s seat. However, whichever trim you go for, you\u2019ll be getting lots of equipment as standard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What about boot space and practicality?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Practicality should be pretty respectable in the Tiggo 4, as with its boxy design, it should be able to offer a good amount of headroom. Chery<\/a> says that with the rear seats folded down, you\u2019ll get up to 1,155 litres of boot space to use up as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to dimensions, the Tiggo 4 measures 4.32 metres long, 1.83 metres wide and 1.65 metres tall. It makes it very similar in size to the Volkswagen T-Roc<\/a>, in fact, which measures 4.37 metres long, 1.82 metres wide and 1.56 metres tall.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve become quite used to Chery offering its cars at attractive prices and the Tiggo 4 is no different. Get one in entry-level Aspire trim and you’ll pay \u00a319,995, while the higher-spec Summit comes in at \u00a321,995. As mentioned, all cars get a comprehensive warranty and there\u2019s an eight-year warranty on the battery, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
