{"id":810,"date":"2011-05-09T13:00:08","date_gmt":"2011-05-09T13:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cars.rankingsolutions.com\/news\/?p=810"},"modified":"2014-01-10T13:01:14","modified_gmt":"2014-01-10T13:01:14","slug":"decline-in-motor-registrations-across-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ukcarline.co.uk\/news\/decline-in-motor-registrations-across-the-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Decline in motor registrations across the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More people could be turning to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukcarline.com\/\">car leasing<\/a>\u00a0after new figures showed a noticeable decline in new car registrations.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, there was a 7.47 per cent year-on-year decline in April.<\/p>\n<p>Some parts of the UK are worse affected than others, with the Welsh motor market hardest hit and showing a decrease of 19.78 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Northern Ireland was not far behind with a drop of 18.52 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>Scotland saw a fall of 9.67 per cent, while England had 6.29 per cent fewer car registrations than the same month in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>In total, there were 136,746 new vehicles registered in April &#8211; down from 147,779 in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Part of this may be down to the fact that car leasing clients and other road users now have to pay huge fuel bills.<\/p>\n<p>Figures from the AA show respective rises of 15p and 20p per litre of petrol and diesel between Easter 2010 and 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More people could be turning to\u00a0car leasing\u00a0after new figures showed a noticeable decline in new car registrations.
