car leasing<\/a> will be more important in their future plans.<\/p>\nEwan Shepherd, general manager of Toyota and Lexus Fleet Services, was speaking to 500 corporate customers at the organisations’ annual conference at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, when he outlined how the car companies will put a greater emphasis on fleet operations in the future.<\/p>\n
He said that giving the market the vehicles that it needs at the right time was key to the new approach and Mr Shepherd believes Toyota and Lexus must capitalise on their recent industry-leading advances in hybrid technology.<\/p>\n
Car leasing customers will be able to choose from four new models in the new year \u2013 all of which make use of the hybrid system to offer drivers improved fuel economy.<\/p>\n
The Prius Plug-in technology will be refined to increase fuel efficiency and lower carbon dioxide emissions, while the hybrid power technology will be rolled out into some of Toyota’s most popular cars.<\/p>\n
Drivers will be able to choose a zero emissions Yaris hybrid for the first time in 2012, as well as an all new Avensis.<\/p>\n
“Deliveries of the new 2012 Avensis start from January next year and with this being our strongest-selling fleet model, next year’s performance is set to build on the momentum of this introduction right from the start,” Mr Shepherd stated.<\/p>\n
He added that fleet managers could rest assured that the two automobile firms will continue to make improvements throughout the year, allowing businesses to further reduce their expenditure.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Toyota announced that the Prius Plug-in range will be supported by British Gas. The energy firm will provide vehicle charging points at various locations across the UK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
