Here’s everything you need to know about the KGM Actyon
KGM Motors, formerly known as Ssangyong, has recently launched the Actyon.
The Actyon competes in a very competitive market of midsize SUVs and promises to offer practicality while being affordable and economical to run.
So, if you’re thinking about buying one, what do you need to know about this Korean alternative?
In this article, we explain the key features of the KGM Actyon.
It comes with petrol power

As many car manufacturers now offer a plethora of hybrid and electric powertrains, it’s surprising to know that the KGM Actyon comes solely with petrol power.
Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of figures, the engine produces 160bhp and 280Nm of torque, while acceleration stands at 0-60mph in 10.6 seconds and the car will run out of puff at 119mph.
KGM claims the Actyon can manage a combined 33.1mpg and that it pumps out a total of 194g/km of CO2.
There is a lot of standard equipment

To make life easier, KGM only offers the Actyon in one trim level, the K50, and it comes fully loaded with kit.
Standard equipment includes 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, LED headlamps, black roof rails and black leather with suede interior upholstery.
Other equipment includes eight-way electric front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, as well as heated rear out seats and privacy glass.
It rivals the likes of the Kia Sportage and Ford Kuga

The Actyon sits in an extremely competitive market, taking on the likes of Britain’s best-seller, the Kia Sportage. You may also be considering cars like the Ford Kuga or Nissan Qashqai if you’re shopping in this market.
It falls into the midsize SUV category, a sector positively overflowing with choice from every manufacturer, but where the Actyon stands out from the competition is its sheer level of standard equipment and impressive amount of interior space.
It offers a vast amount of interior space with a ‘Sleep Mode’ function

If you’re buying a family SUV, the first thing you’ll want to know is how practical it is inside, and thankfully, the Actyon offers bucket loads of space.
In the front, there are wide front door bins, a large central cubby hole, a decent-sized glovebox and a floating centre console that features two cup holders and additional storage under the armrest.
Step into the back and you’ll find masses of room with even six-foot-tall adults having more than enough head and legroom to manage on a long journey.
You may ask, what is Sleep Mode? Well, KGM claims that Sleep Mode is a function that enables the rear speakers to turn off and the rear seat bench will automatically recline to allow rear passengers to nod off and have a sleep if they so wish.
Open the boot and there is a total of 668 litres of space, or 1,568 litres with the rear seats folded down, which makes the Actyon one of the most practical cars in this segment. It enables a completely flat floor and there is even more space under the false floor to hide away any valuable belongings.
It’s priced from £38,649 and comes with a five-year warranty
If you want a KGM Actyon, prices start at £38,649 with only the colour and accessories to bump up the price a little bit. But, it should still keep the price below the £40,000 mark, representing great value for money.
Also, all KGMs come as standard with a five-year or 100,000-mile warranty to give buyers complete peace of mind.
