Finance providers are ready to support their customers and will work with you if you are having trouble paying your contract hire or finance agreement.

Many people experience money problems at some stage of their lives. If you find yourself in any of the following circumstances:

• You are behind with payments or worrying about paying your bills
• You are using an unplanned overdraft with your bank, or relying on credit to make payments
• You have experienced a change in your employment circumstances that has affected your financial situation
• You have been diagnosed with an illness that may have an effect on your ability to make your payments
• You have recently experienced a bereavement which has left you concerned about your finances

Finance Providers can help advise you what to do next to help you to make the right decisions to get back on track.

The earlier you contact your finance provider the sooner they will be able to help. If you think that you may be facing payment difficulties, do not put off contacting your finance provider even if all your payments due to them are up to date.

Speak with your finance provider before you cancel any direct debits, as this may result in missed payments, which will be reflected on your credit file.

Your finance provider will need some details to identify you and your account. It would be useful to have your account reference number to hand when you contact them. This can be found on any statements you have received from them or your original finance documents.

If you have several debts across different finance providers, or you are having trouble paying other bills, you may benefit from free and impartial debt advice. A debt advisor will help you to work out which debts to pay first and help you to deal with your different lenders.
