Here’s what to expect from the future of Hyundai
Hyundai is one of the most popular brands here in the UK, offering a range of vehicles that offer high levels of technology, good levels of practicality and hard-to-beat reliability brought via a comprehensive warranty system.
In more recent times, Hyundai has mixed things up with a series of exciting and high-performance models, showcasing a different side to this Korean brand.
While the last few years have been packed with a range of striking new Hyundai models, the brand isn’t stopping there and we’ve got everything you need to know about what’s in this manufacturer’s future.
Upcoming B-segment car

Hyundai has already made waves with its compact and retro-inspired Inster electric car, but it is expected to ride this wave by introducing a b-segment model which will be slightly larger than the Inster. It’s expected to be launched at the upcoming Munich Motor Show in September and could wear the name ‘Ioniq 2’ which would link it to some of Hyundai’s other electric vehicles.
If it does follow a similar theme to other Ioniq models, then it could wear a decidedly futuristic exterior design. Interestingly, it’ll also be a fully European product, with production of the vehicle expected to take place in Germany rather than Korea.
Arrival of Ioniq 6 N

Hyundai made a splash with its Ioniq 5 N. Introduced as an electric hot-hatch, it has won fans for its sharp handling, incredible performance and clever technology. Its cleverly engineered electric gearbox – which mimics the sound and feel of a real gearbox – is one of a number of tricks used by the 5 N to create a more petrol-like experience for the person behind the wheel.
However, Hyundai will be adding to its list of electric ‘N’ models with a new 6 N. Effectively, it’ll be a dual-motor and high-performance version of the brand’s streamlined Ioniq 6, so expect it to offer a driving experience similar to the 5 but with some added refinement.
Revised Ioniq 6

It’s not just the N that you need to get excited about, as Hyundai is also updating the standard Ioniq 6 with a fresh design that makes it look even more futuristic than before. A big update to the Polestar 2 rival comes through the inclusion of a new N-Line version, too, which brings a sportier look and feel through a variety of upgraded exterior parts, including more intricate wheels.
Inside, you’ll find a redesigned steering wheel alongside plusher, more upmarket materials which aim to push the Ioniq 6 into more premium territory than before.
Ioniq 9 arrival

Hyundai definitely isn’t slowing down when it comes to new models. In fact, it’ll be adding to its range with a spacious new car – the Ioniq 9. With seven seats it’ll be one of Hyundai’s most practical models, yet with its huge battery, it should also be able to return up to 385 miles of range from a single charge.
Like other electric Hyundai cars, the Ioniq 9 will also have 800-volt charging technology which will allow for a 10 to 80 per cent in 27 minutes. It’s expected to go on sale later in 2026.
Holographic windscreen
Moving to something a little more futuristic sees us arrive at Hyundai’s holographic windscreen. Revealed at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the system has been developed with global optics specialists Zeiss to provide a more immersive driving experience.
Essentially, an optical film is applied to the windscreen and this allows the driver to see various types of information, such as navigation and media, right ahead of them. Plus, it’ll extend across the windscreen so the passenger will be able to view key features, too.
The future is looking bright for Hyundai, but you can get into its cars right away here at UK CarLine. Check out our current range to find a Hyundai model for you.
