Seven reasons why the Range Rover Velar is the ideal luxury SUV
When it comes to high-end driving experiences, there are few better than when you’re behind the wheel of a Range Rover. The Velar, meanwhile, takes that regular Range Rover experience and adds some style and dramatic flair to the equation, giving this car loads of presence no matter where it goes.
At UK Carline, we’re proud to be able to offer the Range Rover Velar today – but why should you be considering it? Let’s take a look at some of the Velar’s plus-points.
Stylish good looks

The Velar was designed to slot between the Range Rover and the more dynamic-focused Sport models. As a result, it takes some inspiration from both. You’ve got the high riding position and commanding presence of the standard Range Rover, but with a sleek, sloping roofline that gives the Velar a more dynamic appearance out on the road.
There are lots of neat touches dotted across the Velar, too, ranging from the flush door handles which pop back into the bodyline when the car is locked, to the wraparound tailights.
Lots of equipment as standard

The Velar is a high-class event and as a result, it’s jam-packed with standard equipment. There are heated seats – a big plus-point for winter driving – and the front seats are 20-way power adjustable, so you can always find the right position for you.
We’re also big fans of the Velar’s Pivi Pro system, which is why JLR calls its infotainment setup. With this configuration, you’re getting an 11.4-inch touchscreen which manages all of your key media and navigation functions. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included in this system, too, so you can easily mirror your smartphone’s apps on that large display.
Plenty of off-road technology

As you might expect from any car made by Jaguar Land Rover, the Velar has loads of off-road tech incorporated into its design. There’s Hill Descent Control – which acts like cruise control for steep inclines to help get you down safely – and you can even adjust the speed at which the Velar goes down a steep hill too via the steering wheel buttons.
A clever Low Traction Launch system also helps when you need to drive away when parked on slippery or wet surfaces. This can really help to get the Velar away when you’re on slippery grass or a muddy track.
Spacious and practical

You need a big SUV to be practical and comfortable and the Velar is just that. At 503 litres, the boot in this hybrid P400e model is plenty large enough for all types of adventures and thanks to its square size and low load lip, it’s an easy load area to access even when you’re carrying a lot of bags.
But what about inside? Well, there shouldn’t be any complaints from people sitting in the back as the Velar offers a good amount of headroom and legroom, even for taller passengers.
Efficient electrified powertrains

The Velar has recently been given a clever plug-in hybrid powertrain and you’ll find it available here at UK Carline. Badged P400e, it combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery, bringing together the handy zero-emissions running of an electric setup with the flexibility of a petrol engine. You can get up to 30 miles of electric-only range, too, meaning that you can do lots of journeys without troubling the petrol engine at all.
It’ll take around two and a half hours to fully charge the Velar’s battery via a 7kW home charger, or, if you use a rapid charger, you could shave that time down to just 30 minutes.
Extra option packs available

There’s always scope for extra customisation with the Range Rover Velar. At UK Carline, we’ve got all the tools you need to make a car just right for you, which is why you’ll find a series of option packs available to add to the Velar.
Take the Cold Climate Pack, for instance. It adds heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel to make things even cosier when it’s chilly outside. Plus, a heated windscreen makes departures on frosty mornings less of a chore.
A good range of safety features

Going hand-in-hand with the Velar’s off-road tech, its range of safety features is wide and expansive. You’ve got Emergency Brake Assist to make unexpected slow-downs more controlled, while a tyre pressure monitoring system will check that you’ve not lost any tyre pressure.
You’ll also find two ISOFIX mounting points for child seats in the back of the Velar.
With its premium feel and tech-packed interior, the Velar is an appealing prospect. The good news is that here at UK Carline, we’ve got some of the very best leasing deals around on this high-end SUV. Check them out today.
