Why is everyone talking about the Jaecoo 7?
The Jaecoo 7 is a car that everyone in the UK is talking about. Even though Jaecoo has only sold cars here for a short period, this brand is already making waves through its generous pricing and huge standard equipment levels, both of which you can find more information on via our latest video.
We’re sure that you’ve already heard about the Jaecoo 7, but why is it a car that people can’t stop talking about? Let’s take a look.
Mini-Range Rover styling
It’s hard to miss the Jaecoo 7’s styling, which has more than a hint of Range Rover Evoque about it. With its boxy proportions, the 7 makes an entrance wherever it goes and it’s available in a series of striking colours as well. All cars ride on large alloy wheels to help take that premium feel up a notch.
You’ve also got slim headlights and an upright, slatted grille that brings a touch of class to this SUV.
Loads of equipment

Plenty of standard equipment is something that we’ve come to expect from Jaecoo and the 7 is a great example of this. For starters, there’s a 13.2-inch infotainment system, which is packed full of features, including both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for mirroring your smartphone apps. A six-speaker sound system is equipped on all models, too.
Higher-grade Luxury cars benefit not only from a larger 14.8-inch infotainment setup, but also an upgraded Sony sound system and some clever air purification technology that can help to filter pollutants from the air before it enters the cabin.
Choice of engines

There’s a choice of engines to suit all types of people with the Jaecoo 7. For those who want a familiar setup, there’s the standard petrol model which uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine linked with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. You can get the standard petrol car in either front- or all-wheel-drive configurations, too, with the latter option bringing a little extra traction when things get slippery outside.
Then, you’ve got the plug-in hybrid option. This uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine at its core, but it’s then linked to an electric motor and battery. It also gets an automatic transmission but, importantly, can return up to 56 miles of electric-only run time with a full-charged battery. As a result, the plug-in hybrid Jaecoo 7 can help to lower your fuel bills.
Plenty of interior space

One thing that comes from that boxy design is loads of interior space. Even taller passengers will be able to stretch out and get comfortable, while USB and USB-C ports in the rear mean that everyone has somewhere to plug in their device to charge.
Boot space stands at 500 litres in the standard petrol car, or 412 litres in the plug-in hybrid. Fold those rear seats down and you’ll expand that area to 1,300 litres, helping to make this a seriously practical option.
Attractive price

If there’s one thing that sets the Jaecoo 7 apart from the rest, it’s the price at which it is offered. The standard petrol version starts at just £29,000 and even the more complex plug-in hybrid only increases this to £35,000. Whichever you choose, you’ll be getting lots of equipment and plenty of space for the money.
The Jaecoo 7 isn’t just being talked about; people are getting in on the action quickly too. In fact, Jaecoo registered just over 28,000 cars last year, making it one of the fastest-growing brands.
