The Nissan LEAF, BMW 5 Series and Audi A8 have been named as the three finalists for the title of 2011 World Car of the Year.
After slimming down a list of 39 nominees to just ten, the judges have now selected their top three.
Motoring experts from around the world have been involved in the process, which may mean that car leasing customers are tempted to trust their judgement and opt for one of the three vehicles for their next deal.
Drivers who are keen to help the environment may also be keeping an eye on the World Green Car category, which sees the Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet Volt and BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition in contention for the title.
The all-electric vehicle from Japanese automaker Nissan could be seen by many as the frontrunner for this award after the car picked up the 2011 European Car of the Year award at the end of last year.
