Car and van manufacturer Peugeot is pushing to make headway into the fleet market, which could soon see those in the car leasing sector investing in new models from the marque.
According to head of Peugeot in the UK John Goodman, the firm has a range of vehicles with far-reaching appeal, which is set to see the company favoured by those choosing vehicles for use in fleets.
Speaking to Business Car, Mr Goodman said that 2011 is set to be an important year for the French company.
One of Peugeot’s new offerings, and one which could appeal to car leasing firms, is the 508.
Commenting on the vehicle, Mr Goodman said: “It shows good styling but also quality. The result of that is improved RVs and reduced SMR costs against the 407. It is a massively important car in terms of brand.”
Around 10,000 of the 11,000 expected sales of the car this year are set to be into fleets, it was noted.
Earlier this year, Peugeot scooped the Fleet News 2011 Award’s prize for Green Fleet Manufacturer of the Year, which could spark interest in the brand from eco-conscious car leasing companies.
