South Korean car giant Kia has released the first picture of its new vehicle, the Kia pro_cee’d GT.
The car is set to offer drivers a more powerful version of the standard Kia pro_cee’d, a vehicle which only received its own worldwide debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show at the end of September.
Kia has stated that the Kia pro_cee’d GT will present the motoring industry with a hot hatchback that is perfectly aligned with the car manufacturer’s mission statement to deliver sporty and “fun to drive” road experiences.
Leading the way on delivering this promise is the fact that the South Korean vehicle maker has installed a 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI engine under the pro_cee’d GT’s bonnet. A six-speed manual transmission system should also help drivers to hit top gear in next to no time when out on the open road.
Other points gathered from the first promotional picture of Kia’s newest hot hatch is the fact that the car’s bonnet comes complete with a series of sharp lines, while the chassis presents a streamlined vehicle design.
Furthermore, a small grille – bordered with metallic silver detailing – and headlights styled into cubes and hiding towards the bottom of the car gives off a mean stance.
What Car? authors have also chimed in that they expect the Kia pro_cee’d GT to boast a power output totally close to 200bhp and reach 62mph from rest in around seven seconds.
The Kia pro_cee’d GT is set to launch across the UK in the second half of 2013, following the release of the standard pro_cee’d in the spring of next year.
The car can hit 62mph from rest in 11.9 seconds, limits CO2 emissions to a meagre 135g/km and boasts a fuel-efficiency rating of 54.3mpg. All of this comes at a cost of just £197.99 per month.
