Fiat wins GreenFleet prize

Fleet managers and van drivers looking to reduce their motoring costs, while still having the option of using reliable and modern vehicles, may want to opt for a Doblo or a Ducato.

This is because Fiat Professional has just been named the LCV Manufacturer of the Year at the 2012 GreenFleet Awards.

The awards have been an important part of the motor industry and fleet calendar for the past 14 years and they pay particular homage to the pioneering adoption of low and zero emission technology.

Colin Boyton, GreenFleet’s marketing manager, said the manufacturer had achieved something special in the light commercial vehicles sector, with its combination of new efficient engines and driver assist technology.

Fiat’s current range of vans is designed and built with green innovations such as the Blue & Me infotainment system, Bi-link suspension, Start & Stop and eco:Drive Professional software in mind.

These advances help aid the driver, both on the road and at the bank, by maximising fuel efficiency for every single road condition. This ability, used in conjunction with state of the art MultiJet II diesel engines, helps the vehicles provide their class-leading economy.

Commenting on the award, Sebastiano Fedrigo, director of Fiat UK, said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious environmental award, which recognises Fiat Professional’s on-going commitment to protecting the environment through the provision of technical and innovative solutions which are available today to help fleets reduce their environmental impact.

“Our cutting-edge technology allows customers to obtain the best efficiency from the current fuel sources available on the market.”

Fleet operators do not need to pay the high upfront price that is usually associated with top of the range technology.

A Fiat van leasing deal can help firms bypass the costs involved with acquiring a vehicle.

The popular Fiat Doblo Cargo Diesel 1.3 Multijet 16V Van with Start & Stop has a basic list price of £16,008.00, but businesses can lease it via contract hire from as little as £171.37 a month.
