Mitsubishi announces new Shogun

JonathanJanuary 3, 2012

Car leasing customers who are looking to kick off the new year in style may want to switch their vehicle to the latest offering from Mitsubishi.

The Japanese manufacturer has announced that a new Shogun Black will be available in the UK featuring special edition exterior styling. Mitsubishi hopes to build on the success of the 3.2di-D LWB Shogun SG4.

New additions include the black styling kit which features specially made 20-inch alloy wheels, grilles, headlamp bezels, fog lamp surrounds and side steps.

Car leasing customers who are worried that the Shogun Black may increase their carbon footprint and lower their fuel efficiency should rest assured that the car is compliant with the new Euro V standard.

Mitsubishi also states that the model has best-in-class carbon dioxide emissions.

The Shogun Black still responds when the accelerator is pressed though and the engine delivers 197 brake horsepower with an impressive 441 Nm of torque.

Drivers who hire the car to be a workhorse will not be disappointed, as the Shogun Black is capable of towing 3,500kg and comes equipped with satellite navigation and Bluetooth to aid any off road activities.

The car is also equally at home in a cramped urban environment, as Mitsubishi’s engineers have fitted it with an iPod connection and a reversing camera.

Inside, the motorist will find high-quality leather upholstery and a dashboard that is both fully equipped and smartly lit.

Shogun models have sold more than 100,000 units since they were first introduced to the UK in 1982 and now the automobile firm believes the Black version will add a “new dimension” to the range.

Car leasing customers who are looking for something smaller may be interested in Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV model.

The electric vehicle has recently been adopted by companies in both California and Norway as part of their fleets.
