Vauxhall hails new Insignia range

Vauxhall has unveiled its latest Insignia range of cars, which will hit the UK’s roads in October. Available as a five-door hatchback, four-door saloon and sports tourer estate, the new range covers all bases for business travellers looking for car contract hire.

Since its launch in 2008, the Insignia has largely dominated the mid-size sector and the model won the Car of the Year award. Through this latest reimagining of the range, Vauxhall hopes to ensure the Insignia remains at the top of the pile.

There are four new engines including a 99g/km 140PS 2.0 CDTi, offering large cost benefits to fleet and high-mileage drivers. There is also an all-new 1.6 SIDI 170PS Turbo and a new 250PS 2.0 SIDI Turbo petrol. Existing diesel units have also benefited from refinement improvements, the carmaker said.

But what really stands out for business travellers is the number of gadgets. Chief among these is an all-new infotainment system, incorporating Bluetooth-operated internet connectivity, an eight-inch touchscreen, and 3D navigation and voice control. Crucially, it is fully compatible with a driver’s smartphone and allows drivers superb communications while on the move.  A digital radio is now standard across the range, so drivers can listen to BBC 6 Music and 5Live Sports Extra when the M6 is at a standstill. Vauxhall also promises a series of small improvements to the car’s ride and handling.

“Our flagship car is coming of age,” said Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director. “The new Insignia range embodies all that Vauxhall stands for: powerful design, innovative technology, terrific value and driving pleasure. The Insignia’s become a design classic in its class, and I’m confident that the new range will appeal to both existing customers as well as those who would never have considered buying a Vauxhall before.”

In the meantime, the current range, including this Vauxhall Insignia Diesel Sports Tourer 2.0 CDTi SRi 5dr, is available on a business lease from UK Carline.
