BYD Car Range UK: What Models Does BYD Offer in 2026?

UK Carline4th August 2026

The Chinese brand’s range of cars has broadened over recent years and now there are many models to choose from.

BYD has risen to become one of the most respected of the new wave of Chinese manufacturers to arrive in the UK over the last few years. With a focus on electrified models, this brand’s cars are now a common sight on our roads and they’re a popular option here at UK Carline, too.

While BYD may have started out in the UK with a relatively small number of model choices, today it’s got a huge variety to pick from. Feeling overwhelmed? Don’t panic, because we’ve got all the key details about each of BYD’s current cars.

Compact electric car

Dolphin Surf

The Dolphin Surf is BYD’s most affordable car and acts as a gateway into the brand’s line-up. It’s compact and designed to be nimble and easy to drive but, being a BYD, it is also packed with technology and the very latest battery features. It’s available with two battery sizes – 30kWh or 42.2kWh – bringing a range of up to 193 miles.

Inside, there’s a large screen, but for such a compact model, it’s the rear-seat legroom which really impresses. A 308-litre boot means that the Dolphin Surf might be more practical than you’d expect, too.

Dolphin

Built in the classic hatchback form, the BYD Dolphin could be seen as this brand’s alternative to a car like the Volkswagen ID.3. Recently updated, the Dolphin can be had with either electric or plug-in hybrid setups, with the latter given the ‘Dolphin G DM-i’ designation that you might see elsewhere in the BYD range.

Standard electric versions can manage up to 265 miles of range, while inside there’s a big screen which packs all of those must-have features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Compact SUV

Atto 2

The Atto 2 entered into the busy world of compact SUVs when it launched, going up against the likes of the Ford Puma. With its boxy styling, the Atto 2 definitely has the look of a mini off-roader, but this upright design means that it brings loads of headroom and legroom inside.

It’s available in Boost and Comfort specifications which bring respective ranges of 214 and 267 miles. There’s a difference in charge speeds between the two as well, with the Boost accepting a charge of up to 82kW, while the Comfort increases this to 155kW. That means a 10 to 80 per cent charge in 38 minutes for the former, or 25 minutes for the latter. The Atto 2 range has recently been broadened with a plug-in hybrid model, too, which has an electric-only range of up to 55 miles.

Atto 3 Evo

BYD kickstarted its presence in the UK with the original Atto 3, but the Evo represents an update on its groundbreaking model. There’s a new powertrain to go with that update, too, with a large 74.8kWh battery bringing an impressive range of up to 316 miles, while a 10 to 80 per cent charge can be managed in 25 minutes.

As you might expect, the Atto 3 Evo is also well equipped as standard, with all models getting features such as a 15.6-inch infotainment system and wireless phone charging.

Premium electrified range

Seal

The Seal was a landmark car for BYD as it showcased this brand in an altogether more premium light. Today, the Seal offers a range of up to 354 miles, meaning it can manage those long-distance trips with no problem at all.

Within the Seal range is the Seal 6 Touring and Saloon, broadening the choice even further. Both get a plug-in hybrid setup as standard which brings an impressive 87 miles of electric-only runtime in urban settings.

Sealion 7

Finally, we have the Sealion 7. It’s currently the largest car that BYD offers and rivals the likes of the Skoda Enyaq in the electric SUV segment. There are both rear- and all-wheel-drive models to choose from, and you can get a range of up to 300 miles from big-battery versions of the Sealion 7.

Moreover, the Sealion 7 brings top-level practicality with a 520-litre boot and 58-litre ‘frunk’ offering up loads of storage space.
