More drivers are actively seeking out information about environmentally-friendly vehicles, it has been revealed.
Next Green Car (NGC) published data, which shows that searches for “approved” green cars have increased by 28 per cent since the organisation launched its list of such vehicles in November last year.
Melanie Shufflebotham, from NGC, commented: “Our aim was to provide an independently-selected, up-to-date list highlighting the best of the best green cars and it seems that car buyers are responding to this.”
The NGC Approved List currently features more than 100 models and may be of interest to people seeking out car leasing deals who are concerned about the environment.
Among the most recent additions to the table are the Hyundai i10 1.0l, the Vauxhall Astra Sport Tourer 1.3 CDTi and the Skoda Yeti GreenLine 1.6 CR TDI.
Last month, UK valuation expert Glass’s released a study which found that 53 per cent of British drivers are now considering getting behind the wheel of hybrid or plug-in vehicles.
The figure represents a fivefold increase from July 2010, when just nine per cent of motorists were looking into this option.
