BMW named Fleet Manufacturer of the Year

JonathanJanuary 8, 2014

BMW has recently received a prestigious award for achieving the highest level of excellence possible within the fleet sector. The German manufacturing company has been named Fleet Manufacturer of the Year in the 2013 Fleet World Honours, while their 3 Series Saloon has also received recognition for superior quality and performance.

Editor of Fleet World, Steve Moody, said BMW won thanks to its “great products with low emissions and high quality, a deep understanding of the needs of the fleet market, a willingness to solve problems quickly for their customers” and the “committed team” that makes it all happen. Mr Moody said the German car maker “was a clear winner”, standing out from competitors. BMW won the award last year as well.

The 3 Series has also received top honours. The executive range has prevailed against competitors in three awards ceremonies hosted by well-known media outlets. In Diesel Car magazine’s competition, BMW 3 Series was named Best Large Car. Ian Robertson, editor of the prestigious publication, said the model by and large the runaway favourite among drivers, and still held its own against the competition.

Meanwhile, the 3 Series Saloon was awarded Most Popular Compact Executive Car by www.honestjohn.co.uk. The website selected the BMW model as the customer favourite by analysing web visitor analytics of over 1.5 million unique hits. They determined the 3 Series Saloon was the most popular vehicle to own, and the results came as no surprise – the model won the same award in 2012.

Editor of honestjohn.co.uk, Dan Harrison, said: “This is the last year this version of the 3 Series will be eligible for the award, but with the new 3 Series model coming in second place, it shows just how strong BMW is in the market. We expect it to prove as popular with our users as the previous model thanks to its strong combination of ride, handling and fuel economy.”

The 3 Series range was also named Best Compact Executive by fleet media. Mr Moody of Fleet World said: “The 3 Series has proved itself on fleet in its first year to be a very fine executive car. Some of the lowest emissions in the sector, keen pricing and as always an excellent drive mean it ticks the box for most business users.”

Car leasing deals offered through UK Carline mean you can lease your own BMW 3 Series Saloon for an affordable rate. Contract hires start at £240.60 per month.
