Car leasing customers who use their vehicles for work purposes and are looking to reduce costs and become greener may be interested to hear that Clear Channel UK has chosen several Citroen models for its fleet needs.
The firm, which is one of the UK’s market leaders in outdoor advertising, relies heavily on its cars to transport its staff and resources across the length of the British Isles.
Clear Channel UK has taken delivery of the C5 Tourer, C5 Saloon, C4 Picasso, C4 and the new DS4.
The move is part of a drive from the company to lower its carbon dioxide emissions and all the cars it will hire out come equipped with Citroen’s efficient HDi diesel engines or the e-HDi micro-hybrid powertrains with Stop & Start technology.
Glenn Ewen, fleet manager for the organisation with more than 20 years’ experience controlling vehicle operations, said there were further benefits to the choice.
“In each price band Citroen has a choice of three or four models and using a single supplier cuts down on paperwork. It also reduces work for our drivers as they don’t have to compare models from a variety of manufacturers,” he stated.
Mr Ewen added that the new cars would mean that drivers at Clear Channel UK will have to pay less Benefits in Kind tax than in the past.
The deal also marks the first time any company has opted to lease Citroen’s latest model the DS4.
According to the manufacturer, the DS4 is capable of going from a standing start to 62 mph in 12.4 seconds, but can also drive at an economical 64.2mpg on the combined cycle.
This comes after the French automobile firm unveiled the new C1, which was also designed with an environmentally-aware customer in mind. This version has carbon dioxide emissions of less than 100g/km.
