Car leasing customers who are looking for ideas and advice about upcoming fuel efficient cars could go to the EcoVelocity motor show.
The event’s organiser IGME has announced details for the car exhibition, which will run from May 10th to 13th at ExCeL, London.
This will be EcoVelocity’s second year, following from 2011’s successful stay in the Battersea power station.
Last year’s event featured 17 leading low carbon brands and 7,000 test drives, but Giles Brown, IGME’s managing director, said this time around it promised to be even better and the move will allow the show to go to the next level.
He explained that the “world-class” venue gives the opportunity for even more test drives and more visitors, as over 500,000 people attended ExCeL when it hosted the British Motor Show in 2008.
Mr Brown stated that the timing of the occasion was to accommodate other attractions in London this year.
“We looked very carefully at dates for the event and concluded that we didn’t want to lose our marketing messages alongside the Olympics and decided that May would be a great time for the event,” he added.
Green cars are expected to be even more commonplace in the future and EcoVelocity 2012 will feature a host of new electric, hybrid and very low carbon derivatives. It could be the perfect place for car leasing customers to get to grips with their future hired vehicles, as manufacturers will allow them to drive the models around the event’s test circuit.
Nick Reilly, president of General Motors Europe, called the show “pioneering” and said this was only the beginning for EcoVelocity, as it was at “the start of something that’s going to become very, very big”.
Last year’s exhibition was opened by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, who stated that it fitted “perfectly” with his plan to make the city the “electric vehicle capital of London”.
