56 Years of Our Favourite Little Car
It might have been our Birthday yesterday, but today the humble little Mini turns 56.
On August 26th 1959 Sir Alexander Issigonis launched the very first Mini, and the small car industry changed on the spot.

Most of us have fond memories of the delightful simplicity of earlier models: everything feeling like a child’s toy, the funny little seats, the tiny tiny wheels. It’s a wonder anyone ever got anywhere…
When production was stopped in 2000, however, over 5.3 million Minis had been built, and a panel of international journalists had voted it as European Car of the Century
The Mini we know and still love today is produced by German giants BMW: all the charm and excitement of the original, with an indulgent and innovative interior.
Happy Birthday, Mini. We salute you.
We happen to have a special offer on Mini Coopers right now, offering them on a fully maintained lease from as little as £144.99 + VAT per month – click here for details.
