Toyota have their Lexus, Nissan have their Infiniti, and now Hyundai have their Genesis – a brand new, luxury sub-brand set to be launched in December, with six new models planned by 2020.
Hyundai tell us that Genesis will embody four key aspects: Human focused innovation, refined and balanced performance, athletic elegance in design, and hassle free customer experience. Euisun Chung, Hyundai Motor Company Vice Chairman said,
“We have created this new Genesis brand with a complete focus on our customers who want smart ownership experiences that save time and effort, with practical innovations that enhance satisfaction. The Genesis brand will fulfill these expectations, becoming a market leader through our human-centred brand strategy.”
The new Genesis range will be getting different design to the Hyundai range, with styling being led by a new Prestige Design Division – managed by former Bentley design head Luc Donckerwolke. Each model will be named “G” followed by a number (G70, G80 etc.) depending on the car size.
Once they’re released here, we’ll almost certainly have some great deals on Genesis. I can feel it coming in the air tonight.
