A growing number of people are seeing the advantages of driving a car fresh off the production line, rather than an old banger. This has meant that many car makers are enjoying a successful start to the year, including Peugeot.
The brand has enjoyed a great start to the year, with new car sales indicating a strong demand for the French manufacturer. During March, retail interest increased by 29.4 per cent, while year-to-date new car retail sales rose by 23 per cent. Peugeot is enjoying high demand across the range, with its light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales increasing by 53 per cent.
This is, in part, thanks to the wide range that the French car maker is able to offer as it provides customers with a number of stylish, modern, innovative, well-specified and great value models.
Some of the most recent Peugeot models have been incredibly well received, including the 2008 Crossover, which has been especially popular in terms of sales, with more than 3,000 registrations in 2014. Indeed, the model has been highly regarded across the continent, with an increased production shift being introduced to cater for the extra demand.
Of course, the critically acclaimed new Peugeot 308, which was named 2014 European Car of the Year, has also been a great success for the company. During the first quarter, more than 2,600 were sold and orders are currently 10 per cent ahead of the forecast.
This high demand for Peugeot cars is expected to continue strongly in the second quarter of 2104, with some 18,600 customer orders in place, which represents a 33 per cent increase on 2013.
Neil Moscrop, sales director for the car maker, said: "Peugeot has had a very positive start to 2014, with excellent demand for its rejuvenated extensive product range. Interestingly, customers are showing a particular preference for our top-specified models that give them more sophisticated features and the enhanced customer experience is all part of the Brand's desire to move upmarket."
However, finding a large cash sum for a new car straight from the manufacturer can be a big ask on anyone's finances. Car and van leasing can give you a cost-effective way to get behind the wheel of high-class models, including a number of Peugeots.
