Volvo has won a host of awards at the Fleet Transport ceremony held in Dublin.

Göran Nyberg, Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland managing director, said the company was “thrilled” to be recognised in such a way.

The awards were hosted by Fleet Magazine and attended by 600 guests from the Irish transport industry.

Particularly pleasing to the Swedish manufacturer was its triumph in the Green Commercial of the Year 2012 category.

The Volvo FE Hybrid, which won the title, may interest van leasing customers who want to ensure they have the most sustainable vehicles, as the judges found it offers new possibilities in the area of fuel efficiency.

Jarlath Sweeney, chairman of the judging panel, said: “In recent years electric and hybrid powertrains as an alternative fuel source have come to the fore.”

Car leasing customers who want to take advantage of the technology could opt for the company’s V60 plug-in hybrid model.
