UK Carline is proud to only stock the best car brands in the industry for the most competitive car leasing deals. One of these manufacturers is Porsche, which has just been named by Which? as its brand of the year.

The Which? Car Survey has named Porsche as the best manufacturer in the highly-competitive UK car industry. The consumer magazine picks its top brand by combining its own test data with the opinions of its readers in order to see how reliable and popular a manufacturer is with its customers.

This year’s result gave Porsche a score of 87 per cent and a customer rating of 94 per cent, which put the German manufacturer comfortably ahead of its nearest rival on both accounts.

More than 57,000 vehicles were included in the tests but the writers said: “Reliability for cars over three years old is decent, and owners who can afford to buy one are fanatical about their worth, giving the brand a 94 per cent customer score. Upcoming test scores for the latest Boxster and Cayman are expected to further bolster this strong showing.”

However, this isn’t the only accolade that the Boxster and Cayman models have received lately with both doing well at the Auto Express Awards.

The Boxster was only launched last year, but has gone down a storm, impressing critics and consumers alike. It was awarded the Best Roadster in the annual Auto Express Awards with the judges saying that “Porsche engineers have come up trumps and produced the most desirable, capable and enjoyable roadster that money can buy”.

As a sports model, the new Porsche Cayman has been quick to win its first award and earn itself recognition in the industry. Less than six months after being released from the German manufacturer, the Cayman won the Best Coupe title at the Auto Express Awards.

The writers said: “We’ve come to expect scintillating performance, race-bred handling and exquisite build quality, but its appeal has now been boosted further by seductive styling and surprisingly low running costs. Porsche engineers know how to mix the essential coupe ingredients in the right quantities; you get incredible pace, a distinctive engine note, a well-crafted cabin and head-turning design. And don’t forget the precise steering, engaging chassis and huge grip.”

A number of Porsche models did well in the ratings with the ‘Type 986’ Boxster (1996-2004) and the ‘Type 987’ Boxster (2004-2012) being judged the most satisfying to own, generating a score over 90 per cent each. The Porsche Cayenne was also a strong contender in the Which? Car Survey as it was awarded a score of 82 per cent and given the Best Buy accolade.

The judges rated the Cayenne as “one of the sharpest 4x4s to drive” with “tremendous performance from excellent engine range” and a “comfortable ride and very well made.”

This success is demonstrated in the global sales that Porsche has enjoyed so far this year. In the first six months the German engineers saw sales increase by 18 per cent year-on-year mainly driven by the Cayenne, Boxster, Cayman and 911 and the firm show no sign of stalling.

Porsche is investing around 500 million euros to expand its Leipzig factory to produce its upcoming sports model – the Macan. This will be the company’s biggest construction project and is a major landmark for Porsche.
