Mercedes-Benz is touting its new S-Class range as ‘the best automobile in the world’. If you’re in the market for a new car, you can’t afford to overlook the range – here’s why.

Interior design

Inside, the S-Class looks structured – cutting-edge, yet classic. Elegant design creates a feeling of understated power, where drivers and passengers alike can relax and enjoy a comfortable ride. Wood trim and pearl-effect paint lend a traditional look to the state-of-the-art features.

An optional business centre console, including a telephone handset, folding table, and storage compartments for luggage make this model ideal for on-the-go executives.

High-resolution colour displays create a large, streamlined command centre for motorists. Car functions are divided between instrument information (shown on the left-hand screen) and comfort features, which appear on the right-hand display. Functions are grouped in coherent, logical clusters, allowing drivers to focus on the road rather than manual controls.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the first car in the world to be able to detect upcoming bumps on the road. Using road surface scanning technology, Magic Body Control adjusts suspension to uneven asphalt.

S-Class models offer a wide range of multimedia to maximise enjoyment on the road. A Frontbass system, combined with high-end Burmester surround sound and 3-D systems create an entertainment experience unlike any other.

Motorists can interact with the navigation function through Google Maps, an animated compass, live traffic info, real-time data and “Driveshow” simulation. The multifunctional navigation system allows drivers unparalleled access to crucial information, ensuring not only that they arrive at their destination safe and sound, but ahead of schedule.

Mercedes Benz has subjected its S-Class range to rigorous testing in order to produce the safest model possible. The lightweight aluminum hybrid bodyshell minimises noise levels and offers superior safety for individuals seated within. Steel is used in the body to enhance protection for passengers.

Chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Dr Dieter Zetsche, said: “Rather than being about safety or aesthetics, power or efficiency, comfort of dynamism, our aspirations were ‘the best or nothing’ in every respect. No other car stands for the Mercedes-Benz brand promise more than the S-Class.”
