Businesses taking advantage of car leasing deals to operate fleets may want to accept an open invitation to enter the forthcoming Fleet Safety Forum Awards for Excellence.
Organised by road safety charity Brake, the event is designed to recognise those who work to reduce the number of accidents involving employees who are driving for work purposes.
The ceremony will take place on June 14th 2012 at the MacDonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham and Tracey Scarr, fleet and road safety manager for Arval – sponsor of the awards – described road safety as “vital”.
Development manager at Brake Roslyn Cumming said there were a record number of entries in 2011.
“More and more fleets [are] acting positively to manage risk and save lives, as well as having a positive impact on their organisations’ bottom line and the environment,” she stated.
Brake recently called on the government to improve driving safety by bringing the clocks forward by one hour all year-round, in order to make the evenings lighter.
The charity estimated doing so would prevent around 450 serious injuries and deaths each year.
