The Citroen DS3 continues to go from strength to strength with British drivers.
It is a model that has won a host of awards in the UK and has gone down well with ordinary motorists, tough-to-please industry journalists and seasoned sports racers alike.
Top Gear magazine wrote: “The Citroen DS3 is a seriously good little car. Stylish, spacious, fun to drive and well built.”
Now, it has been confirmed that the DS3 is the best-selling model by the French manufacturer in the country.
According to Citroen, from January to July 2012, a total of 10,206 DS3s were purchased, taking it firmly to the top of the company’s sales chart.
This equates to an impressive 66.8 per cent increase when compared to the 6,118 DS3s delivered during the same period in 2011.
In total, since the car’s launch in 2010 more than 27,000 of the cars have now been sold.
As the new September registration approaches, demand is already high for DS3 but people rushing to the dealer could be missing out on the chance to save a significant amount of cash.
The Citroen DS3 Diesel Hatchback 1.6 e-HDi Airdream DStyle three-door model is one of the most striking versions of the city car and as such has a basic list price of £14,070.
However, if it was acquired as part of a contract hire scheme then there is substantial savings to be had as it only costs from £119.99 a month to lease it.
And for that small price drivers still get the chance to be behind the wheel of the same car.
The 1.6 eHDi Airdream Dstyle version is not only stylish it is very economical and sustainable. It has a fuel consumption figure of a massive 76.3 and it is also exempt from congestion charges as it emits less than 100 g/km of carbon dioxide.
