Fleet operators are more aware than anyone in the UK that the cost of running a vehicle can have huge impacts on the success of a business.

Not only do fuel and motoring expenses need to be taken into account, but the suitability of a van can often have a profound affect.

National Windscreens, the UK’s largest independent vehicle glass replacement company, believes it may have found the perfect match for its own specific needs with the Vauxhall Movano and has placed a fleet order to bring its total of them to 24.

The firm already uses six Movano of the L1 H1 FWD 2.3 CDTi (100ps) manual specification variety.

One of the most important features to the glass fitting firm is the option of turning on rear parking sensors – which can let the driver know how close they are to objects as they try to pull up in tight and often unfamiliar spots up and down the length of the UK.

“We are delighted with the Vauxhall Movanos already on our fleet,” said Phil Lomas, director of National Windscreens. “After an in-depth comparison exercise for our fleet vans, it was clear that the Movanos offered incredibly good whole life costs and provide a flexible and very usable load space suitable for our bespoke requirements. In addition, driver visibility is excellent, which makes low speed manoeuvres much easier.”

He added that the reliability of the Movano was also a crucial factor in National Windscreens’ decision, as it had not experience much expensive vehicle downtime.

The Movano could be even cheaper if acquire as part of a Vauxhall van leasing scheme.

For example, the 28 L1 Diesel Fwd 2.3 CDTI H1 100ps Movano has a basic list price of £23,820, but can be part of a fleet contract hire scheme from as little as £306.35 a month.
