Hyundai had a profitable first quarter, with sales increasing 12.53 per cent, registration of new vehicles up 3.3 per cent and fleet increase of 29 per cent. The car maker’s market share is holding steady at 3.3 per cent.
Compared to overall market growth of 7.39 per cent, Hyundai has risen above the competition.
New product line-ups, investment in the brand, and improved customer service are paying off for the manufacturer. President and chief executive officer (CEO), Tony Whitehorn, commented: “Despite challenging economic conditions, we are encouraged by our performance in this first quarter of 2013 and by the stable growth”. He added: “Our investment in new product has undoubtedly driven our recent dramatic rise within the UK marketplace”.
Despite the release of new and improved models, Hyundai’s I10 remains its most popular product, representing a segment share of 9.34 per cent. The best-selling Hyundai I10 Hatchback is available to lease through UK Carline, at a low monthly rate of £136.72 per month. It’s no wonder why nearly 4,000 Brits drove one of these home in March – it’s extremely fuel efficient, getting an impressive 56.5 MPG.
The I20 is also quite popular, with sales increasing 64.8 per cent over the same period in 2012. With a MPG rate of 57.6, the Hyundai I20 Hatchback would make a great addition to your business fleet. Contract hires are now available for just £139.27 a month.
With overall fleet sales up 12.5 per cent from last year, Hyundai currently ranks ninth in this sector, with potential for improvement as True Fleet sales have shown explosive growth. Last year, Hyundai was the fastest-growing manufacturer in the True Fleet sector, with sales increasing 40 per cent.
