Mercedes Reveal the Brand New GLE
The new GLE was previously known as the Mercedes M-Class, and is the big brother of the GLE Coupé. This is the serious-business rival to BMW’s X5, and is going to be a big player in the already mega-popular SUV market when it gets released later in the year.
For the first time, Mercedes are getting a plug-in hybrid: the GLE 500e will combine a 328bhp, 3 litre V6 petrol engine with an electric motor, which will have a total combined output that would put some top-end sports cars to shame. What’s more, it will be able to boast about 78g/km CO2 emissions and an impressive 85.6mpg – which makes it perfect for the person who spends a lot of time on the road, who needs the benefit of a comfortable SUV.
If you’ve had a Mercedes before, you’ll know what to expect inside: comfort, luxury, and space. The company say there’s going to be a wider choice of colours and materials: including carbon fibre and wood.
The new GLE will come absolutely packed with tech and toys: air suspension options, Dynamic Select options, little luxuries such as electric closing doors and night vision. Heated windscreen wipers are also a thing now.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE will debut properly at the New York Motor Show, and should be available for lease later in the year. Drop us an email and register your interest today!
