Vehicle Lease Maintenance & Servicing

When you lease a car or van through UK Carline, you’ll need to make sure you take proper care of it. As part of this, the vehicle you lease will require servicing from time to time, as per the manufacturer’s guidance.

 

Who takes care of servicing my leased car?

You’re responsible for the maintenance of your lease car, and you’ll be required to keep its regular services up to date throughout the lifetime of your lease.

 

However, at UK Carline, we like to make things as straightforward as possible for our customers, which is why we offer our very own leasing maintenance package. 

 

How can UK Carline help?

When you choose to lease a car with us, you have the option to take out an additional maintenance package on top of your lease fee. This is charged at a fixed cost, and is a great way to ensure you have budgetary peace of mind throughout the lifetime of your lease, particularly if any unfortunate additional service costs occur.

 

What are the benefits of the maintenance package?

The cost of the maintenance package is split across the duration of the lease and charged at a fixed monthly cost. This means you’re covered against any unexpected maintenance costs, you’re protected against rising inflation and you’ll have access to a qualified team that will take care of any problems or issues with your vehicle.

 

If you take out the maintenance package as a business user, VAT is 100% recoverable on the maintenance package cost.

 

What’s included?

When taking out the optional maintenance package, you’ll be covered for the cost of:

  • All manufacturers scheduled servicing
  • Any routine or unexpected maintenance issues
  • MOT testing
  • Unlimited premium and branded tyre replacement – this includes both the valve and balance
  • Free mobile tyre fitting service – available by appointment at a location that’s convenient for you
  • No recharging for punctured or damaged tyres.

 

What’s not included?

There are a few exceptions that the package won’t cover. These include:

  • Repairs and replacements as a result of driver error or induced faults
  • Repairs from and accident
  • Missing or broken items (for example, missing hub caps etc)
  • Vandalised and stolen wheels and/or tyres, misfuelling, lubricant and fluid top ups between services (including screenwash, oil etc)

 

Is roadside assistance included?

Yes. Comprehensive roadside assistance is included as standard, unless otherwise stated. It includes free European travel breakdown assistance, and is a 24/7, 365 days a year service. The average time to attend with this service is just 45 minutes, with an 82% roadside fix rate. The comprehensive cover also includes:

  • AA patrols
  • Free 24hr courtesy vehicle
  • Home and roadside assistance
  • Repair or recovery to destination
  • Continued travel: taxi, train and air fares as well accommodation for up to 8 passengers
  • Repatriation back to the UK
  • Communications and translation service
  • Foreign travel document service (subject to a fee), valid for 12 months.

 

Is it more expensive?

Before you sign up for the maintenance package, your account manager will be able to show you how much you can expect to have to spend on servicing and repairs etc over the course of your particular car’s lease. This comes from service maintenance repair data provided by IDS.

 

Usually, the maintenance package is the less expensive option.

 

The funder that has supplied your vehicle will want to do everything they can to ensure the car is returned is as close to perfect condition as possible. In order to achieve this, they’ll negotiate deals with tyre fitters, garages and recovery services up and down the country, reducing costs and passing those savings on to you.
