Infiniti was founded by Nissan in 1989 as a way to tap into the lucrative performance and luxury car market, without diluting its established brand. A top-secret “Horizon Task Force” was created within Nissan to develop a new identity with its own character and aesthetic.
While sales were initially slow, Infiniti found its feet with the hugely popular G35 in 2003 which helped establish the brand in North America as a serious competitor to the likes of Audi and BMW. Sales in Europe in only began in 2008, but Infiniti has been popular over the pond for much longer.
The Q70 saloon, which goes up against other executive saloons like the Audi A6 and Mercedes E-Class, is a strong all-round performer available as a petrol, diesel or hybrid car. Particularly popular as a fleet car for business, the Q70 not only looks impressive, but has great interior options and gets respectable mileage too, particularly in the diesel and hybrid models.
If you have a family to ferry around, a QX70 may be more suitable. An unashamedly large SUV, it boasts a spacious interior with bags of tech to play with, and its sleeker looks make a welcome change from the usual SUV shape.
Finally, in the premium hatchback class the Infiniti Q30 is one of the brand’s most successful models yet. With its luxurious driver’s cabin and plenty of trims on offer, it’s a great city car if you’re looking for something a bit special.
Driving a performance car is a dream for many motorists, but the heavy up-front costs can be a significant barrier. With UK Carline, the up-front costs don’t have to stop you – you can drive the car you want to at an affordable monthly rate.

You don’t need to worry about depreciation, as all those costs are borne by the leaser (that’s us!) and, if you decide you want to stick with your car when the contract’s up, you can buy it at a discount. Of course, you can always extend the lease too, or simply choose a new model.
